The Business of Art in the
21st Century
Are you intimidated by the thought of
approaching an art gallery? Do you have
a well–written artist’s statement, biography
and resume? This course explores the
tools and strategies required for pursuing
and managing a successful career in
the arts industry. Learn how to prepare a
professional portfolio and find out what
every artist should know before signing a
contract. Topics include pricing and selling
works of art, creating an artist’s statement,
and designing effective promotional
materials. You’ll also receive an introduction
to contract and copyright law, and learn
about recordkeeping for tax preparation and
insurance options.
